What type of microphone should I choose?
For streaming, meetings and simple content creation, a USB microphone is usually the easiest option. For expandable studio setups, XLR gives you more flexibility. CREATOR DUO supports both paths.
What is the difference between USB and XLR?
USB microphones contain their own digital audio interface and connect directly to a computer. XLR microphones use an analog connection and normally require an audio interface, mixer or suitable preamp.
Do I need an audio interface?
You do not need an external interface for AIR USB or when using CREATOR DUO in USB mode. STUDIO X1 and other XLR workflows require suitable audio hardware.
Can I use these microphones for gaming and livestreaming?
Yes. AIR USB and CREATOR DUO are well suited to gaming, Discord, OBS, livestreams, online meetings and creator platforms.
Can a microphone remove background noise?
A directional microphone can reduce pickup from some unwanted directions, but room acoustics, microphone placement, gain level and software processing all affect background noise.
How close should I speak to the microphone?
For spoken voice, start around 10–20 cm from the microphone and adjust based on your voice, gain setting and room. A pop filter can help with plosive sounds when working close to the mic.
Does it work with Windows and macOS?
The USB models on this demo site are designed around standard USB audio workflows for Windows and macOS. Confirm your final hardware and OS support before publishing the specification.
Can I connect a USB microphone to a phone or tablet?
Some USB-C phones and tablets can work with class-compliant USB microphones, but power requirements and adapter support vary by device. Check compatibility with your final product hardware.
Is a condenser or dynamic microphone better?
Neither is universally better. Condenser microphones are often chosen for detail and studio recording. Dynamic microphones are popular for spoken-word, louder sources and rooms where controlled pickup is useful.
What is phantom power?
Phantom power is DC power commonly supplied by an audio interface or mixer through an XLR cable. Many condenser XLR microphones require 48V phantom power.
Why can I hear a delay in my headphones?
Monitoring through software can introduce latency. A microphone with direct or zero-latency monitoring lets you listen to the input before it passes through the computer.
How do I reduce echo in a room?
Move the microphone closer to your voice, lower unnecessary gain and add soft furnishings or acoustic treatment around reflective surfaces. Directional placement also helps.
