Get your microphone working at its best.

Setup guidance, compatibility checks and troubleshooting for common recording issues.

1

Connect the microphone. Use the supplied or supported USB cable and connect directly to the computer where possible.

2

Select the input device. Open your operating system or recording app audio settings and choose the microphone as the input.

3

Set a sensible gain level. Speak at your normal volume and keep peaks below clipping.

4

Position the microphone. Start around 10–20 cm away and aim the active side toward your mouth.

No audio detected

Reconnect the cable, try another USB port, confirm the microphone is selected as the input device, and check app-level microphone permissions.

Volume is too low

Move closer to the microphone, increase gain gradually and confirm the correct microphone input—not a laptop mic—is selected.

Background noise is too high

Lower gain, move closer to the microphone, point the rejection side toward the noise source and reduce reflective room surfaces.

Headphone monitoring has delay

Use direct monitoring when available. If monitoring through software, reduce buffer size only if your system can remain stable.
